Google Rolling Out “Right to be Forgotten” Requests

Europe’s “right to be forgotten” law is quite interesting and I definitely like to keep up with news in regards to it. Who knows, a law similar to this may come to the United States at some point and would surely affect the SEO industry. It has only been a matter of weeks since the whole thing came into effect. Google quickly made a form for users to fill out for information they would like removed. Now we are already seeing examples of how this is played out. If you perform a search and information related to that search has been requested to be removed, then at the bottom SERP page you will see this explanation.

Again, this is just the case for the European version of Google. However it could very well make its way over to America and it would affect everyone in a number of ways. Google is supposed to be able to bring us relevant information no matter what we search. How are they supposed to do that when they essentially have to censor certain information if requested by a user. Would you want this law to come into effect in the US? Do you think Google should be responsible for servicing the requests of people to remove information? Basically, where do we draw the line on this subject matter?
