Pinterest Analytics for Business Pages Make a Splash

March 13, 2013 By John E Lincoln

Pinterest has always had a bit of a downfall in that it was hard to measure the actual interactions that took place on the site. Due to this, we first turned to Pinerly Analytics (now known as Reachli) as well as the old faithful Google Analytics. But like any growing company Pinterest knew in time they would need some sort of analytics platform of their own to cater to business owners investing heavily in the website. Today, Pinterest announced Pinterest Analytics. Let’s take a look.

According to Pinterest, “Bloggers, businesses, and organizations often ask us, “what are people pinning from my websites?” These website owners help create the content on Pinterest and we wanted to help them understand which pieces of content people find most interesting. Today, we’re pleased to announce Pinterest Web Analytics, a first step towards doing just that. Web Analytics gives site owners insights into how people are interacting with pins that originate from their websites.”

To use Pinterest analytics you must first verify your website. This is a fairly straightforward process. Once you have done this you will get information such as:

  • How many people have pinned from your site
  • How many people have seen these pins
  • How many people Pinterest sent to your website
  • Your most pinned content
  • Your most clicked content
  • Your most recent pins

Pinterest is offering early access. But first you must sign up for the new interface. You also need to have the verified website. If you have these things you can simply go to the right top menu and click Analytics. Once you are there you can play with all of the cool features.

Pinterest analytics is sure to be a huge hit with social media marketing professionals. The website is sending more referral traffic than many of the other larger players online. Businesses are loving Pinterest more and more. Not just due to Pinterest analytics, but also because of the new business accounts, Pin It buttons and board widgets.

What do you think of the new Pinterest analytics?
