As a graduate of 2018, Carley Hanna is still relatively young in her marketing career, but she is making waves. 

With a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications, Carley’s expertise lies in Broadcast, Writing, Social Media, Speaking, and Design. 

She just secured a new position at Grainger, the leading B2B business supplies and equipment brand, as Associate Marketing Project Manager. 

Even though she is new to the company she is eager to dive in. 

Hanna’s main task is to work to develop and execute project plans for Marketing and Business Partners while continuing to monitor progress and delivery against crucial deadlines. 

Before her role with Grainger, Carley Hanna worked at Best Price Nutrition as a Digital Marketing Coordinator.

Hanna spent two years with the Chicago-based company and made quite a large impact. 

Her primary tasks included developing, tracking, and improving content, landing pages, and general website design. 

She also focused on email marketing, monitored the company’s social media accounts, and oversaw both of the organization’s Influencer and Affiliate programs.

Hanna revealed her notable organization as she wrote and submitted various creative briefs for the rest of the digital marketing team, tracked their status, and reported back to the CEO regularly. 

Utilizing her broadcasting skills and prior experience, Carley Hanna, along with two of her co-workers Carley Hanna co-hosted and co-created “What Supp?” podcast.

Sponsored by their employer, Best Price Nutrition, this platform allowed the trio to discuss the do’s and don’t, and how to’s of health, nutrition, supplementation and life in general!

When she’s not speaking on the podcast Hanna also helps run Best Price Nutrition’s YouTube channel which currently has 39.4k subscribers. 

Her co-worker who submitted her for Marketer of the Week describes her as communicative and innovative, stating that she pushed the company to expand its social media presence to TikTok. 

“Just having a presence on TikTok, you get to know the trends and what’s hot.”

After creating a few viral videos on TikTok and selling out a few of their products, the company is more than pleased with her advice. 

Being new to the industry can sometimes be intimidating, but by utilizing her prior knowledge in broadcast and social media, Carley Hanna proved to be a valuable team member.

Broadcast Experience

Before her marketing career took off, Carley Hanna worked in broadcasting. 

During her time in college, she interned with three different broadcasting companies, only to take a job in the field following her graduation. 

Hanna interned at The Daily Iowan as an Anchor and Reporter where she conducted more than 20 on-air interviews.

Next, she took an internship with KRUI Radio as a Radio Host.

While assisting with voice-over and production, she presented local news and feature reports on both local and national news programs. 

Additionally, Carley was a morning news intern with WJHG-TV in Panama City Beach, Florida. 

Along with shadowing producers and reporters, she honed her broadcasting skills by writing headlines and tease scripts. 

The most recent broadcast role she landed was a full-time News Reporter for KCRG-TV9. 

She focused on collecting, verifying, and analyzing newsworthy information. She used this strategy to produce a multitude of investigative pieces involving politics, business, and education.  

Wrapping It Up

Carley Hanna’s years of broadcasting experience paved the way for her current career. 

While exposing herself to various career options she gained soft skills such as communication and organization, while mastering her craft in writing and her expertise in social media. 

I’m looking forward to seeing where Carley Hanna’s skills and persistence take her in the future.
